Clowning Around with Shakespeare!

• June 11-21 Tuesdays to Fridays (8 days).
• For 6th through 9th graders only.

Shakespeare Outdoors! This camp for middle-schoolers is led by celebrated professional Shakespearean actors and clowns. No experience is necessary for this camp - just a love for performance, Shakespeare and laughter! Students will also create original clown pieces and build skits based in the language of the bard and share some of their favorite skits and giggles on our final day in the forest.

Typical Daytime Schedule:

8:45-9am Drop off at the Sallie Bush Community Center

9:00am Opening Circle

9:10am Improvisational Exercise

10:30am Hike to stream for Sonnet analysis and writing exercise

11:30am Lunch and Teacher Supervised free play

12:15pm Circle Time on the Lawn reading some of Shakespeare’s best humorous scenes

1:15 pm Comedic Scene Building

2:15 pm Closing Circle

2:30pm Pick-up and Good-byes

We're so excited for your camper to join us this summer in beautiful Green Mountain Falls for our Green Box Arts Camp! Green Box Arts Camps are process-based arts opportunities for your child to explore dance, visual arts, music and theatre.  Our staff is made up of seasoned working artists and educators who collaborate to create art with nature-integrated curriculum that follows the lead of our campers interests and passions.  Our camps take place in the Green Box studios and the greater Green Mountain Falls campus as we adventure to streams, take hikes, have daily mindfulness and circle time on the lawn and for the first time we will also have weekly sessions at the GMF City Pool!

9:10amSession I Creative Movement/Dance

10:15am Snack time- healthy daily snacks shared daily (examples: grapes & cheese; sugar snap peas and Home-made green goddess dressing; egg salad lettuce roll-ups)

10:30am Session II Swim Time and water play at the GMF Pool

11:35am Session III Visual Art

12:40pm Lunch and Free Choice Outdoor Play

1:45 pm Session IV Theatre Games or Music Class

2:50 pm Closing Circle on the Lawn

3:00pm Pick-up and Good-byes
